Advocacy meets research.

I am a boundary-spanning researcher and health advocate with nearly 20 years of experience bridging transdisciplinary areas of patient/family/community partnership, human-centered design, contemplative research and practice, digital and non-digital intervention design and implementation, and health systems policy. I develop and advocate for systems thinking approaches, and equity-centred co-production/participatory methods. I lead and manage research initiatives, weaving diverse forms of knowledge (including lived experience and clinical evidence) to real-world solutions.
My primary research programme focuses on the co-design, evaluation and testing of trauma-informed, compassion-based interventions aimed at supporting individuals facing health inequities and long-term chronic illness. This work has resulted in a transdiagnostic middle-range theory and a compassion-based design framework, with potential reach and scalability to additional populations currently under study.
